Practice Manager

Practice Manager Responsibilities

This position will involve, but will not be limited to:

  • Managing all HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing employee development to support a team of approximately 80 staff members.
  • Handling patient correspondence, complaints, and service improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.
  • Supporting payroll processing and ensuring compliance with employment law and NHS policies.
  • Contributing to the development of practice strategies alongside senior leadership, including the Operations Manager and Practice Manager.
  • Handling high-level communication with patients and external stakeholders to maintain standards of care and service.
  • Assisting with day-to-day operational issues and providing leadership within the practice.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations andstandards in all HR and patient-facing activities.

Practice Manager Rewards

  • Salary between Β£30,000 and Β£37,500, depending on experience.
  • 22 days plus bank holidays, increasing with service up to 32 days plus bank holidays.

The practice operates from both a historic townhouse in central Oxford with no parking and a purpose-built facility in west Oxford with parking, offering comprehensive clinical services supported by efficient digital tools. Practice Manager Experience Essentials

  • CIPD Level 3, or equivalent HR qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and full employee lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience managing HR processes, payroll, and patient communication.
  • Experience within a GP practice and exposure to medical regulations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of handling patient correspondence and complaints effectively.
  • Ability to contribute to practice strategy at a senior level.
  • Proficiency in digital health tools, ideally EMIS, and experience working within regulated healthcare environments.

Location

Based in Oxford, this full-time role requires fully office-based on-site working and offers flexible arrangements of working hours, with easy access via public transport and parking facilities nearby. One of their medical sites has parking whilst the other does not.
