Part-Time Bookkeeper Responsibilities
This position will involve, but will not be limited to:

  • Monitoring bank accounts, credit card payments, and statements to ensure accurate cash flow management.
  • Reviewing purchase invoices and raising sales invoices to support smooth financial operations.
  • Setting up and maintaining vendor trade accounts, executing weekly and ad hoc payments.
  • Managing payroll, maintaining staff pension schemes, and ensuring HR records are accurate and current.
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns and developing annual budgets.
  • Liaising with external accountants regarding year-end and financial reporting.
  • Reviewing insurance policies, utilities, and overseeing health and safety inspections such as fire safety and electrical maintenance.
  • Maintaining finance spreadsheets and working with finance software, ideally on Xero.

Part-Time Bookkeeper Experience Essentials

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, ideally with Xero or similar finance software.
  • Experience in cash management, VAT submissions, payroll, and pension schemes.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and liaising with external accountants.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and reliability.
  • Knowledge of utilities, health and safety inspections, and basic property operations.

Location
Based in Oxfordshire and accessible by car, with parking available. The role involves visiting the residence once a week to collect post, check-in with household staff, and handle administrative tasks, with most work manageable remotely.
