We are looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer (FTC) that has a broad skillset with a focus on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (VDI), System Centre Configuration Manager, Intune, Ivanti/Appsense, Microsoft Active Directory/EntraID, and Vmware.

The Senior Desktop Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the enterprise desktop environment. This includes managing Citrix environments, SCCM and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, VMware, and scripting with PowerShell to ensure optimal performance and user experience. The role requires advanced technical skills, strategic planning capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Citrix Management

• Design, deploy, and manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop (VDI) environments.
• Perform upgrades, patches, and regular maintenance of Citrix infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Citrix-related issues.
• Optimize VDI performance and user experience.
• Provide support for VDI-related issues and incidents.

Thin Client Management (Wyse)

• Automation of stability health checks, to ensure all VDI’s are online following weekend maintenance.

SCCM Administration

• Manage and administer SCCM for software deployment, automated server and workstation updates/patch management.
• Create and maintain task sequences for monthly OS workstation, server and application deployment.
• Monitor and report on SCCM health and performance.

VMware Administration

• Manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
• Perform regular maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting of VMware infrastructure.
• Implement best practices for virtualization and resource optimization.

PowerShell Scripting

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and administration tasks.
• Use scripting to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Ensure scripts are documented and adhere to best practices.
