The largest bank in Japan is looking for a Data Storage Engineer to join their team based in their Central London Office. This will be a contract position as part of a Cobalt project the Bank is running.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of SAN Technologies
- Experience of Block, File and Object Storage
- Experience of EMC products (EMC Unity, EMC VNX, EMC ECS, EMC Isilon, EMC PowerStore)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise across all aspects of the online storage estate for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities. This includes block, file and object storage systems and all associated equipment such as switches and replication systems.
- Develop a working knowledge of the data backup systems across both entities, sufficient to be able to confidently provide support and on-call cover when required.
- Ensure that all storage systems are online and operating normally and within required SLAβs.
- Review and ongoing development of the daily check process and ensure that all checks are completed and recorded daily with appropriate remedial action where necessary.
- Design and deploy new systems where necessary.
- Plan and implement recommended updates on a regular basis, to ensure that all systems are operating in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and security requirements.
- Complete storage allocations from all platforms in accordance with end user requests.
- Perform appropriate capacity management checks and produce regular reports.
- Perform regular reviews and update of all relevant procedures in cooperation with the controls and risk department. All processes should be clearly documented and contain relevant and accurate information.
- Implement system changes when required and adhere to all appropriate change control processes.
