Position Summary

GSK are the lookout for a QA Scientist to join the QA Technical Support Team in Worthing. This person will play a critical role in the Quality Control process by performing physical and chemical analytical tests on oral, stability, and sterile products. This work ensures that each batch of product meets the required quality standards for market release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine production and stability sample testing, meeting lead-time targets.
  • Calibrate and maintain analytical equipment.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of antibiotic powders and solid dose forms using techniques such as HPLC, Karl Fischer, and dissolutions.
  • Investigate Out-of-Specification (OOS) results and collaborate with relevant departments.
  • Verify analytical testing and data generated by other analysts.
  • Maintain high safety and GLP standards, ensuring training records are up-to-date.
  • Validate equipment and methods as required.
  • Liaise daily with analysts and team leaders regarding testing and results.
  • Provide data and reports to Value Streams as requested.
  • Lead small teams on specific analytical techniques, e.g., HPLC, as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • HNC or equivalent level in Chemistry or a scientific discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP/GLP.
  • Excellent reporting and recording skills using SOPs and site systems.
  • Methodical approach with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
