We are seeking a highly skilled and multi-disciplinary Mobile Fabric Engineer with experience across a variety of trades, including plumbing, general building maintenance, painting, plastering, and basic carpentry. This role requires a proactive and flexible individual who can work independently while supporting maintenance operations across multiple sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and maintained to a high standard. A company van will be provided for travel between locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.
- Perform general building maintenance tasks, including repairs to plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling systems.
- Complete fabric maintenance work such as:
- Painting and decorating
- Plastering and patch repairs
- Surface preparation
- Basic carpentry work including door adjustments and lock replacements
- Conduct routine site inspections to identify faults and carry out necessary repairs.
- Repair plumbing issues including leaks, blocked drains, and damaged pipework.
- Undertake preventative maintenance checks on equipment and facilities.
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
- Complete risk assessments and maintain safe working practices at all times.
- Build positive relationships with clients and respond promptly to maintenance issues.
- Accurately log completed work using mobile devices and complete all required documentation and reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, ideally within a mobile or field-based role.
- Strong background in building maintenance, fabric work, and painting/decorating.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical systems.
- Basic carpentry skills, including door and lock repairs.
- Hands-on experience in plastering, decorating, and surface preparation is essential.
- Relevant trade qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds are advantageous.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety standards and regulations.
- Full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
