Role Overview:
We are seeking a Mobile Electrical Engineer with a strong background in building services maintenance to support a portfolio of commercial properties. This is a hands-on, client-facing role involving both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, along with occasional installation work. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform reactive maintenance and troubleshooting across electrical systems
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks
- Conduct fault finding, repairs, and minor installations
- Complete electrical testing and certification
- Use and maintain tasks within CAFM systems
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and procedures
- Inspect systems and proactively identify and resolve issues
- Produce technical reports and quotes for remedial works
- Support cross-skilled tasks (mechanical, fabric, etc.) when required
- Participate in an on-call rota and provide out-of-hours emergency cover
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Manage stakeholder relationships and deliver high-quality service
- Ensure SLA/KPI performance targets are met or exceeded
- Conduct site inspections and maintain compliance documentation
- Support minor projects, vendor coordination, and operational improvements
- Respond to and resolve emergency situations on-site
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and system data
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 Electrical qualifications
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
- Testing & Inspection qualifications (2391 or 2394 & 2395 preferred)
- Proven experience in commercial electrical maintenance
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building services
- Basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, or general fabric maintenance (advantageous)
- Full UK Driving License
- Familiarity with CAFM systems and mobile working tools
