Fixed-term contract with the possibility of becoming a permanent employee after 12 months.

Indirect tax lead for UK & Europe, managing indirect taxes for the Bank and of the group in the UK (and parts of Europe where needed), including advising and partnering with the business, and helping to implement projects and tax initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on key UK indirect tax value added initiatives and reclaims
• Assist with the Global Tax team’s transition to the Tax Target Operating Model (“TOM”) for indirect tax compliance and manage its implementation in the UK.
• Advise on the indirect tax implications of transactions impacting the UK and in certain parts of Europe and manage any post implementation issues.
• Assist with the Bank’s ongoing development of systems and processes
• Manage The Bank’s relationship with key regulatory stakeholders such as HMRC on all indirect tax matters
• Maintain and develop effective indirect tax risk management controls in line with tax risk policies for the UK and Europe
• Ensure changes required from the implementation of new laws, regulations and tax authority guidance are implemented in the UK and Europe

Qualifications

• Financial services indirect tax background
• ATT, ACA, CTA or equivalent is preferred
• Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (“ICAA”) or Chartered Institute of Taxation (“CIOT”) is preferred
