JOB SCOPE
The FM Digital Channels team is driven to provide world class technology to support the bank’s Financial Markets business, working specifically on the bank’s in-house built pricing, execution and trade processing platform. As a product manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering technology solutions to financial markets globally. The role is based in London and working in a dynamic global team with other technologists and business stakeholders across multiple locations.
Key Attributes
- Experience of having worked as product manager or business analyst in financial institutions preferably in the front office space with strong product acumen.
- Product ownership experience useful.
- Pro-actively engage, manage and build strong relationships with both business and technology stakeholders.
- Taking ownership of technology deliverables from high level requirement through development, testing and deployment.
- Good understanding of Agile processes and framework, flexibility to wear Scrum Master hat based on team’s demands.
- Identify risks and issues early, plan mitigating steps and communicate these to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Understand business requirements and translate into quality technology solutions.
- Provide on-going support to the technology teams as required e.g. authoring/reviewing test cases, closing out open issues/questions, managing change request process etc.
Qualification & Skills
Technical skills:
- Sound business analysis skills: documenting business requirements and user stories, liaising with business stakeholders and translating them into specifications for development & testing.
- Agile and traditional software delivery methodology experience.
- Certifications such as Scrum Master, Product Owner or PMP a plus.
- Derivatives knowledge from FX, Rates, Commodities and/or Credit encompassing trade life cycle, pricing, risk analytics and market data.
- Finance degree or certifications (FRM/CFA/PRM etc) or market and credit risk understanding a plus.
- Functional expertise in one or more of the following asset classes – Interest Rates / commodity / FX Derivatives, Credit, Structured Products.
- Substantial technology delivery and management experience (minimum 10 years), at least part of this in the financial markets domain.
- Quantitative finance understanding, experience working with analytics libraries and pricing models.
- Knowledge and previous experience of large-scale financial markets platforms such Sales Dealer systems.
- Experience of leading cross-departmental teams to delivery – with or without direct reporting line, project management experience a plus.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams and stakeholders in different time zones.
- Technical background beneficial, knowledge of programming and scripting languages, technologies, architectures, data stores, messaging a plus.
- Understanding of change processes in financial institutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with an excellent standard of English (written and spoken).
