We are seeking a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary Mobile Engineer with expertise in a variety of trades, including plumbing, general building maintenance, and fabric work (such as painting and basic carpentry). This position requires a flexible, proactive individual who will be part of a team responsible for the maintenance and repair of facilities across multiple sites. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving abilities, good communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. A company van will be provided to support travel between locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Maintenance: Perform reactive and planned maintenance work on a range of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Fabric Work & Painting: Handle a variety of fabric works such as painting, plastering, decorating, patch repairs, and general carpentry tasks (e.g., door adjustments, replacing locks, etc.).
  • Inspection & Repair: Carry out routine inspections, identifying potential issues, and performing the necessary repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation of all building systems.
  • Plumbing: Repair plumbing systems (e.g., fixing leaks, unclogging drains, repairing pipes).
  • Preventative Maintenance: Complete regular checks on equipment and facilities, ensuring proactive maintenance is undertaken.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, carrying out risk assessments, and ensuring work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Customer Service: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to issues quickly and efficiently while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including logging jobs on a mobile device, completing paperwork, and reporting to supervisors as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer, preferably within a mobile or field-based role.
  • Strong background in general building maintenance, fabric work, and painting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  • Basic carpentry skills, including door and lock repairs.
  • Experience with plastering, decorating, and surface preparation (essential).
  • Relevant qualifications in one or more trades (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety standards and regulations.
  • Full, clean UK driving license (essential).
