Allegiant Finance is an FCA-regulated claims management company based in Warrington. We help customers pursue redress for unaffordable lending, motor finance commission, and related claims, and we're looking for a Credit Controller to join our Customer Operations team.
About the role
You'll manage the credit control caseload from the moment an invoice is raised through to settlement, chasing payment of Allegiant's fee where a respondent has paid redress directly to the customer. That means staying on top of each case, keeping customers and respondents informed, and knowing how to read the situation when a payment is running late.
No two days look the same. You might be working through overdue invoices one hour and setting up an instalment plan with a customer the next, then liaising with an Insolvency Practitioner or handling a Breathing Space notification after that.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing your caseload from invoice through to settlement, making courtesy calls and building rapport with customers along the way.
- Liaising with respondents to chase delayed payments and resolve queries.
- Taking card payments over the phone and setting up instalment plans where agreed.
- Managing the Credit Control inbox and completing daily dialler campaigns.
- Identifying and supporting vulnerable customers, with reasonable adjustments where needed.
- Issuing Letters Before Action where appropriate and handling first-instance complaints.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience in credit control or collections.
- A confident, clear telephone manner.
- Strong attention to detail and good administrative skills.
- Comfortable working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- The ability to deal with customers with empathy, particularly where sensitive or financial circumstances are involved.
This role sits within a regulated environment, so a genuine interest in doing things properly, accurately, and fairly matters as much as the collections experience.
