Role: Network Engineer Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 DOE Location: Sheffield We are excited to be partnering with a leading technology solutions provider in their search for a talented Network Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced networking professional to join a dynamic and innovative team, delivering top-tier infrastructure solutions to a diverse range of clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide expert support and guidance on networking best practices. Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable network solutions. Maintain and support LAN, WAN, firewall, and wireless network infrastructure. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime. Implement and manage security protocols, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with wider infrastructure. Conduct regular network assessments and recommend improvements to enhance performance and security. Assist with cloud networking, including hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Provide third-line support for complex networking issues. Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines. Skills and Experience: Proven experience in network engineering, with a strong background in Cisco, Juniper, or similar technologies. Expertise in routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall configuration. Experience with network security tools and best practices. Hands-on experience with VPNs, MPLS, SD-WAN, and VoIP. Familiarity with cloud networking solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (preferred). Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent (desirable).
