We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer / Lead to drive innovation and lead a geographically dispersed team within a dedicated defence organisation.
In this role, you’ll oversee the design, development, and deployment of complex software systems, working closely with cross-functional experts in hardware, systems, and RF technology. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, guiding technical direction, and ensuring excellence in mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small talented team of software engineers across multiple sites
- Drive the delivery of innovative solutions in defence sensor systems
- Ensure technical excellence, compliance, and system reliability
- Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
- Influence strategy, architecture, and process improvement
- 5+ years’ experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager
- Strong background in C++ development
- Experience with QT
- Skilled in managing distributed teams
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of RF technology & secure software development
- Experience in the defence sector or sensor-based systems
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Background in Radio Frequency or Defence is beneficial
- Familiarity with systems integration involving sensors and RF components
