Full Time Hourly Rate: From £26.00 per hour depending on experience.

Main purpose of the role

As a community pharmacist you will be able to offer expert advice on the prescription and use of medications. Dispensing drugs to patients and providing advice on how to take them safely. Supervise the prescriptions dispensed to patients to ensure their safety, quality, and compliance with law. Responsible for managing, supporting and training direct reports.

Primary responsibilities

  • Dispensing medications to patients
  • Check prescriptions for accuracy and safety
  • Ensures legal compliance in the pharmacy, reviewing labels, doses and procedures
  • Secures and monitors controlled drugs to maintain regulatory compliance
  • Supervises and trains other pharmacy staff such as technicians and counter assistants
  • Communicates with doctors about prescriptions
  • Advised patients on proper use of prescription medication
  • Discusses side effects and potential adverse interactions of drugs
  • Offers various wellness and screening services
  • To develop, promote and provide NHS & private services
  • Manage pharmacy stock and budget
  • Uses IT to maintain records and track stock
  • Responsible for the management and development of employees ensuring compliance with legislative and company policy & procedure.
  • Remains aware of latest pharmaceutical products, developments, and laws
  • Any other duties as requested

Person specification

  • Well groomed and presentable.
  • Relevant degree in Pharmacy
  • Registration with GPHC
  • Pharmacist experience essential
  • Supervisory / Management skills
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines
  • High level of concentration
  • Methodical and accurate approach to practical tasks
  • Strong communication and excellent customer service skills
  • Trustworthy and understanding of confidentiality issues
  • Professional, tactful and friendly attitude
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and training
