Company Description

Allcott Commercial delivers a wide range of commercial structural engineering, project management, building surveying, heritage, and contract administration services throughout the UK. Our team consists of chartered surveyors (RICS/CIOB) and chartered structural engineers (IStructE/ICE). By leveraging our expertise in structural engineering and commercial surveying, we provide comprehensive building advice unmatched by similar consultancies. We serve property developers, councils, retail firms, and investors.

Role Description

We are looking for someone who would enjoy the opportunity to carry out a wide range of commercial survey work, in an independent firm with a focus on work-life balance, rather than unrealistic expectations. We don\’t use timesheets and we support all our surveyors with fitting their diaries around their lifestyle whenever possible.

The work will be varied, and will include dilapidations, commercial building surveys, schedules of condition and planned preventative maintenance across a broad range of sectors.

The role is home- rather than office-based. The area covered will be tailored to the candidate’s home location, and will focussed on the region of Birmingham and the West Midlands, with some travel further afield.

You will join our nationwide, multi-disciplined team and will have support from commercial, residential and general practice surveyors, as well as our in-house structural engineers. The breadth of our expertise means that we can offer options for training in new disciplines, such as residential surveying, or expert witness work.

As an independent company, we are small enough to be able to adopt a personal approach for each of our employees. This means that we have the flexibility to design a package to meet your needs. Whether you want flexible working, the chance to try something different or even the opportunity to become a partner in the company, for the right person, we can make it work.

Requirements

We are looking for a Birmingham or West Midlands-based surveyor looking to build on their existing commercial survey experience within a growing firm. You need to be chartered with the RICS or CIOB and be able to commit to delivering an excellent service to our clients.

You need to have strong attention to detail and be confident in carrying out commercial survey work independently to a high standard.

You will have experience of:

  • a broad range of commercial work, for example: dilapidations, schedules of condition, contract administration, acquisition surveys and technical due diligence
  • preparing and presenting technically robust reports
  • providing clear, concise, justified conclusions
  • working independently and within a team structure
  • liaising with clients, both verbally and through written correspondence
  • A full UK driving licence is required.
