We’re looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our team in Cardiff. You’ll be the first point of contact for all HR-related queries, providing expert advice, guidance, and support to managers and employees across the business. In this role, you’ll help shape a positive and collaborative workplace culture, ensuring our people practices align with our company values and best practice. You’ll manage a variety of HR activities, including employee relations, recruitment support, onboarding, policy development, and employee engagement initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for all HR-related queries, providing guidance and support to the wider team as required.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork that reflects the organisation’s vision, values, and strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain positive employee relationships, responding to queries and concerns promptly while managing expectations effectively.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to line managers on the interpretation and consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and processes.
- Support line managers in managing employee relations matters, ensuring all cases are handled professionally, fairly, legally, and in a timely manner.
- Monitor, review, and update HR policies to ensure compliance with current legislation and best practice.
- Support the onboarding process and contribute to the delivery of key people metrics and insights to the business.
- Provide training and coaching to leaders and managers on HR processes to ensure understanding and consistent application across the business.
- Support recruitment activity as required, including pre‑screening, salary benchmarking, interview coordination, and preparation of interview documentation.
- Assist in developing and promoting a strong Employer Brand, contributing to EVP and attraction initiatives.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, such as surveys, focus groups, and other feedback mechanisms.
- Provide insights and analysis to the HR Manager to support informed decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Support payroll processes as required, maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and data integrity.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven HR generalist experience
- Experience managing employee relations cases
- Good working knowledge of current employment legislation
- Experience working with KPIs/metrics
- Effective communicator to ensure absolute clarity on requirements
- Ability to influence and motivate others both in the HR team and the wider organisation
- Good analytical problem‑solving skills, able to see the crux of a complex issue and take appropriate action
- Delivery of exceptional customer service on a consistent basis
- Excellent planning, organisation and prioritisation skills
- Focused on delivering high quality outcomes with a positive approach to getting the job done
