We are looking for caring, reliable and committed individuals to join our domiciliary care team, providing high-quality care and support to adults in their own homes across Sunderland and County Durham.
As a Domiciliary Care Worker, you will play an important role in helping people maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life. You will provide person-centred care based on each individual's needs, preferences and care plan.
The role is varied and rewarding, and no two days are necessarily the same.
Key responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Providing personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care.
- Supporting clients with mobility and transfers where required.
- Preparing meals and supporting clients with eating and drinking.
- Prompting or administering medication in accordance with care plans, training and company procedures.
- Supporting clients with household tasks where required.
- Providing companionship and emotional support.
- Encouraging clients to maintain their independence and participate in activities of daily living.
- Following individual care plans, risk assessments and health and safety procedures.
- Recognising and reporting changes in a client's health, wellbeing or circumstances.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date care records.
- Following safeguarding procedures and reporting any concerns appropriately.
- Working respectfully with clients, relatives, colleagues and other health and social care professionals.
- Maintaining confidentiality and respecting each client's privacy, dignity, choices and cultural preferences.
- Travelling between clients' homes and ensuring scheduled care visits are completed safely and professionally.
