What the role involves: As our Obsolescence Manager, you will lead the delivery of obsolescence management services across high-profile defence and engineering programmes. You will manage obsolescence activities and projects from end to end, developing policies and plans, identifying and mitigating risks across complex asset portfolios, and ensuring deliverables meet contractual, quality, compliance and client requirements. Acting as a key point of contact for clients, you will build strong relationships, understand their obsolescence challenges and translate their needs into effective solutions. You will also provide advice and support the continued development of our obsolescence management capability and DiamondOM® Solution.
Additionally, you will:
- Monitor project performance and report to stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and guidance
- Drive continuous improvement of obsolescence management processes
- Represent us at client meetings, presentations and industry events
- Act as an active member of the International Institute of Obsolescence Management (IIOM)
Who we are looking for: To be considered as an Obsolescence Manager, you will need:
- Proven experience delivering obsolescence management projects and managing client relationships
- A thorough understanding of obsolescence management processes, principles, and best practices
- Demonstrable knowledge of current IEC 62402 OM standard, industry bespoke policies and MOD OM Guidance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- A relevant qualification in engineering, supply chain, asset management, or related discipline
- Full membership of IIOM (or be actively working towards this)
Due to the nature of this role with the Ministry of Defence, the successful candidate must undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) pre-employment screening and obtain a formal Security Check (SC) clearance within the first 12 months of employment.
