Safety Assurance Manager (OME or Aviation) We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and manage all safety aspects within a National Armaments Director Group project team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant safety legislation, MOD regulations, and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle, acting as the primary safety advisor to the Project Manager and Senior Responsible Owner. Responsibilities Own the generation of technical safety requirements and documentation for a project, considering in‑service support and associated costs. This includes the generation, updating, reviewing, endorsing, and recommending acceptance of safety artefacts. Develop, manage and maintain an effective Safety Management System. Identify and analyse hazards and contribute to the identification and evaluation of risk reduction measures, ensuring that these are adequately documented and managed. Apply relevant safety legislation, regulation, policy, processes and standards to safety artefacts in a highly regulated environment. Identify and analyse safety impacts and contribute to the identification and evaluation of risk reduction measures, ensuring that these are adequately documented and managed. Provide informed and accurate safety engineering advice and guidance to decision makers through design review panels. Oversee the management of contractual aspects to ensure safety requirements are captured and the management of contractors who perform safety activities. Manage the test, verification, validation, and evaluation process. Develop and maintain project safety assurance plans, monitor compliance, and ensure that safety assurance evidence is gathered and assessed for safety case preparation. Lead on safety assurance activities as appropriate. Qualifications A relevant engineering or safety degree (or equivalent experience). Experience of Safety Management within NADG/DE
