Are you an experienced Aerospace Technical Author with EAGLE/EPS experience looking for an exciting new opportunity? Join us as part of Allan Webb's Technical Publications Department.

What will the role involve:

  • Creating, editing and maintaining technical documents in EAGLE/EPS, including Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM) and Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC).
  • Taking ownership for activities under your control whilst complying with the requirements set out in the Allan Webb Ltd Quality Management system and Allan Webb Ltd Health and Safety Manual.
  • Populate illustrated Parts Data in EAGLE.
  • Produce technical documentation to the required quality and specifications in EAGLE/EPS.
  • Ensure quality control of documentation in accordance with applicable technical authoring specifications and standards.
  • Support the technical verification and validation of technical documentation.
  • Carry out assessments of future work as detailed by the platform lead.
  • Maintain records and files of all versions and revisions in conjunction with document control.
  • Support the timely delivery of the agreed updates/creation of Publications and IP technical data to meet the requirements of all stakeholders.
  • Production of Technical information to the correct standard within the timeframe allocated by the statement of work.
  • Reporting to the relevant Platform Lead author but also involved in direct working relationships with the other platform authors.

Who are we looking for?

  • A motivated and highly experienced candidate with HNC level or equivalent in a relevant aviation related subject.
  • Alternatively, to have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship followed by a period of employment in all aspects of aircraft maintenance and overhaul.
  • A detailed knowledge of EAGLE/EPS is essential.
  • A knowledge of rotary wing aircraft is essential, preferably Merlin or Wildcat.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a technical author.
  • Detailed knowledge of Supportability and Air Publication specifications e.g. ASD S1000D (Issue 2.1 and 2.2), Def-Stan 00-60, S2000M.
  • A good working knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE-100).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of Enovia and Catia (not essential).
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to work to changing deadlines under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work under your own initiative as well as part of a dynamic team.
