Join the EMpower Programme 2026 at AllAboutLaw – a four‑day intensive designed to give students from Black heritage and ethnic minority backgrounds invaluable insight into the firm, develop relevant career skills and build lasting relationships with senior lawyers.
Program Details
- Divisional and practice‑area talks
- Commercial awareness sessions
- Work shadowing opportunities
- Panel sessions and networking with employees at all levels, from trainees through to our CEO
- Skills sessions, including how to network and a bespoke mock trial
- Career advice: navigating qualification routes, preparing for applications and assessment centres
- Assessment centre on the final day – best candidates secure first places on our vacation scheme for the following year
- 12‑month mentoring from a Penningtons Manchester Cooper mentor, with further informal mentoring available
Dates: 13‑16 April 2026 – you must attend all days. The programme is paid and covers related costs, including travel, and lunch is provided throughout the week (either on the day or via vouchers).
Eligibility Criteria
- Black heritage or ethnic minority background
- Law undergraduate, penultimate year or final year non‑law undergraduate, or up to two‑year post‑graduate
- No minimum A‑level grade requirements
- On track for a 2:1 or equivalent in any discipline
- Committed to a career in law
- Great team player
- Exceptional communication skills
