We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Real Estate Senior Account Handler - Casualty to join our Real Estate Team in Chelmsford.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Operations & Client Relationship Manager – Casualty and based in our Chelmsford Office on a hybrid basis, you will be responsible for the desktop handling of UK and European Casualty Real Estate Claims.

Key Accountabilities

  • Desktop technical handling of UK and European Real Estate Casualty Claims (typically Public Liability – injury and third-party property damage).
  • When needed being a technical referral point.
  • Managing a number of accounts within the department – attending and taking part in client meetings, presentations, technical training etc.
  • Incoming and outgoing emails, telephone calls, video calls, correspondence to progress claims and resolve queries.
  • Controlling the lifecycle of the files to drive diary management and proactive handling.
  • Liaising with the insured, insurers, brokers and any other stakeholders to ensure optimum customer service, becoming a point of contact for interested parties.
  • Liaising with both our UK and European Casualty Adjusters and Account Management Teams.
  • Time reporting and billing compliant with internal standards processing and systems.
  • Data capture and MI production for clients as well as for internal use, including performance measurement and data integrity reports.
  • Ensuring company standards are met in relation to all technical and operational policies and procedures, including data protection and information security.
  • Account management.
  • Invoicing.

Experience and Qualifications

We are looking for an individual with at least 5 years’ experience of handling a caseload of Casualty Claims (Public Liability experience is essential – both Injury and third-party property damage) on a full handling (cradle to grave) basis. The individual will have handled UK claims and be comfortable with the relevant protocols such as the low value claims portal. It would be beneficial, but not essential, if the individual had some knowledge/experience of handling Real Estate Claims and/or claims in Europe. The individual will be comfortable with undertaking desktop investigations into casualty claims with a view to establishing policy coverage, reserves and legal liability on both a delegated and non-delegated basis. The individual will be comfortable handling and managing a significant caseload of claims. The individual will be comfortable with producing reports and formal advice for clients. The individual will be self-motivated, have attention for detail and want to progress technically. The individual will be comfortable with managing client accounts/schemes. The individual will be suitably driven and comfortable meeting targets in relation to SLA’s, hours charged and fee income. The individual will be comfortable working alone but also with the rest of the Real Estate Team, along with Casualty Adjusters in the UK and Europe. It would be advantageous, but not essential if the individual had the ability to speak other European Languages (Spanish, French, German, Italian). It would be desirable to hold or be working towards a professional claims’ qualification.
