The Analyst, Business Insights of International Digital Distribution is responsible for commercial analysis of NBCUniversal’s film and TV product for International Digital Distribution, within Home Entertainment.
Home Entertainment manages licensing of film and TV product to buy (EST) and rent (VOD) to consumers around the world, via transactional partners (e.g. Amazon, Apple, Google, Sky, Rakuten, etc.). The primary function of the role is to provide important tactical and strategic analysis to support the growth of Digital Home Entertainment. The Insights team covers analysis of all products through lifecycle, from Premium Window launch, through initial price movements and onwards into catalogue tracking. The team analyzes over 100 individual distribution partners in all territories outside of US & Canada. Therefore, a successful candidate needs to be comfortable working with large datasets, and be able to provide comparative analysis cross-territory and cross-partner. The role will work closely with sales data direct from partners, as well as third party industry data and wider metrics associated. Working closely with internal IT and engineering teams to maintain data warehouses (via Snowflake) and ingest new data sources when they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct performance analysis to support both tactical and strategic initiatives (e.g. informing windowing and pricing strategy)
- Work on the integration of the Data Warehouse into Business Insights operations and help manage the relationship with that team
- Manage collation of multiple data sets in internal systems and maintain reporting tools, working with external agencies where appropriate
- Produce regular performance reporting & dashboards for the international transactional business, covering all types of content and including broad international reports and territory focuses
- Monitor and communicate market trends, competitive landscape and communicate insights to the business
- Drive revenue growth through the development of meaningful and actionable metrics
- Work in conjunction with Finance and Sales to provide detailed analysis for all budgeting and forecasting activities
- Review competitor data including pricing, release windows and promotional activity to influence NBCU initiatives
- Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate recommendations.
Qualifications
- Advanced data skills including SQL and Excel. Power BI and Python are a plus
- Experience working with complex data, with ability to combine different data sets (e.g. combining sales data with licensing and performance data from subscription services to understand how different business lines affect each other)
- Experience in aggregating, manipulating and visualizing data into actionable insights
- An ability to create visually compelling dashboards and reports
- Methodical, accurate and organized with excellent attention to detail
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with ability to take initiative and prioritize workloads
- Ability to cope in a dynamic & changeable environment in a calm and professional manner
- Demonstrated strong quantitative, financial/commercial and analytical skills
- Previous experience in Media preferable
- An active interest in the understanding of Digital Media
- Passion for TV and film content.
