As a Religious Studies & Ethics teacher, you will inspire and empower students to explore and engage with a diverse range of religious, philosophical, and ethical perspectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and thought‑provoking Religious Studies & Ethics lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Teaching a range of topics within the Religious Studies & Ethics curriculum, including world religions, moral philosophy, ethics, and spirituality.
  • Facilitating discussions and debates on complex moral and ethical issues, encouraging students to develop critical thinking skills and form informed opinions.
  • Integrating interdisciplinary approaches and real‑life case studies into lessons to promote cross‑curricular connections and deepen students’ understanding.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore their beliefs, values, and perspectives.
  • Implementing effective assessment strategies to evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and enhance the Religious Studies & Ethics curriculum, resources, and teaching materials.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, Ethics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Religious Studies & Ethics at Key Stages 3, 4, and/or 5.
  • Deep subject knowledge and a passion for exploring diverse religious, philosophical, and ethical perspectives.
