Role Description
The Fire & Security Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ossett. The role involves installing, commissioning, and maintaining fire safety and security systems, including fire extinguishers, alarms, and associated equipment. Day-to-day tasks include performing site surveys, inspecting and testing systems, diagnosing faults, and completing repairs in line with relevant standards and company procedures. The engineer will also prepare service reports, maintain accurate records, and communicate clearly with customers to explain findings and recommendations. Collaboration with colleagues to ensure safe working practices and consistent service quality is expected.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Security Engineering, with practical experience working on fire and security systems.
- Knowledge of Information Security principles, including secure handling of customer and site data.
- Understanding of Network Security and Cybersecurity as they relate to modern fire and security control systems.
- Awareness of Application Security for any software platforms used in monitoring or managing security systems.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in fire, security, electrical, or related engineering discipline.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and compliance.
- Effective communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for site visits, as required.
