Legacy, the three-rosette fine dining restaurant at The Grand, York, is looking for an ambitious and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our award-winning kitchen brigade. Open Wednesday to Sunday for dinner service, alongside occasional exclusive lunch events, Legacy is driven by seasonality, precision and creativity.
Working closely with the Culinary Director, you'll help lead the brigade, oversee daily service and maintain the exceptional culinary standards that define what we do. As well as leading your section, you'll play an active role in mentoring junior chefs, contribute to seasonal menu development and engage with guests to bring our culinary philosophy to life. What You Will Do In This Splendid Role:
- Work alongside the Culinary Director to oversee daily service, ensuring every plate meets our exacting standards of flavour, presentation and consistency.
- Lead your section with confidence, supporting, coaching and developing junior chefs while creating a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
- Work closely with our restaurant team to deliver a seamless guest experience, engaging with guests to share your passion for our food and bring our culinary story to life.
- Manage mise en place, stock control and service preparation to ensure your section is organised, efficient and ready to deliver exceptional service.
- Contribute to seasonal menu development, culinary innovation and continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation.
