Location: Derby

Pay: £13.57 - £16.58 per hour

Shifts Available: Sunday to Thursday, Tuesday to Saturday or Monday to Friday

Hours: 6:00am - 2:00pm | 2:00pm - 10:00pm | 10:00pm - 6:00am

Quest Employment are recruiting! Quest Employment is currently looking for experienced Yard Shunters to join a busy and well-established logistics operation in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with previous yard, logistics or transport experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You'll play a key role in keeping the site running efficiently by safely moving trailers around the yard and ensuring they are positioned for loading and unloading.

The Role

  • Safely moving trailers between designated yard locations and loading bays
  • Positioning trailers accurately for loading and unloading operations
  • Carrying out routine vehicle and equipment safety checks
  • Monitoring trailer movements and maintaining an organised yard
  • Communicating effectively with warehouse and transport teams
  • Reporting defects, hazards, or operational issues promptly
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the yard
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures and site regulations at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a yard, transport, or logistics environment
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
  • Flexible approach with a positive attitude

Please note: Due to the remote location and limited public transport links, your own transport is highly desirable.

Pay & Benefits

  • Day Shift: £13.57 per hour
  • PM Shift: £13.57 per hour (2:00pm - 8:00pm) and £16.58 per hour (8:00pm - 10:00pm)
  • Night Shift: £16.58 per hour
  • Weekly pay

  • Training: Successful candidates will complete their first two weeks of training at an alternative warehouse location before transferring to the main site in Derby.
