An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join a leading organisation specialising in high performance electrical and fibre optic connectivity solutions. This strategic sales role focuses on developing and growing key OEM accounts, securing new business opportunities, and delivering sustainable revenue growth across UK and international markets. The successful candidate will combine strong technical understanding with consultative sales expertise to position advanced engineering solutions within complex technical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow revenue within existing strategic OEM accounts
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within targeted OEM customers
  • Build and implement structured account plans for key customers
  • Use consultative and value based selling techniques to communicate product and service benefits
  • Develop strong relationships across customer organisations including Engineering, Project Management, and Commercial teams
  • Act as the primary interface between customers and internal business functions
  • Identify and progress sales opportunities while developing effective bid strategies
  • Manage a structured sales pipeline and ensure effective conversion of opportunities
  • Maintain accurate CRM records including account plans, opportunities, and forecasting
  • Gather competitor and market intelligence and provide commercial insight to senior leadership
  • Lead and support the creation, negotiation, and closure of commercial agreements
  • Prepare high quality bid proposals that clearly communicate value propositions
  • Monitor competitor activity and identify risks and growth opportunities within key accounts

  • Education: Engineering qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background
  • Experience: Experience within the electrical, electronics, or fibre optic connector industry; Proven background in technical or consultative B2B sales; Experience working with both engineering and commercial stakeholders
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electronic and engineering based industries; Confident using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Experience using CRM systems
