The company is expanding due to sustained demand and requires a commercially minded professional who can build a strong pipeline, convert opportunities and support long-term strategic growth. This role suits someone who understands operational cycles, annual shutdowns and workforce planning within industrial environments. The Role You will be responsible for identifying, engaging and securing new business opportunities across high-demand sectors.
This is a field-based, relationship-led role requiring regular client visits and the ability to manage your own diary effectively.
Key responsibilities include: Researching and targeting organisations with planned shutdowns, maintenance periods or high-volume staffing needs.
Developing tailored proposals and presenting solutions that align with client operational requirements.
Spending two to three days per week visiting clients, conducting site meetings and building strong commercial relationships.
Managing a structured pipeline, tracking activity and reporting outcomes to support strategic planning.
Working closely with the recruitment delivery team to ensure seamless handover from initial engagement through to fulfilment.
Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and sector developments to identify new opportunities.Representing the business professionally at client meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.
Requirements Proven experience in business development, account management or sales within recruitment, industrial engineering, construction, equipment or plant hire.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence in client-facing environments.
Ability to manage a field-based schedule and maintain consistent activity levels.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
Nice to Have Existing network within industrial engineering, construction or equipment hire.
Experience supporting energy-from-waste, material-handling, or heavy-engineering recruitment projects.
A proactive, target-driven approach with a commitment to delivering results.
