An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join a friendly and well-established GP Surgery in Worcester. Serving a patient population of approximately 6,000 patients, the practice prides itself on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive and collaborative environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a nurse looking to develop their career within Primary Care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering childhood and adult immunisations
  • Administering travel vaccinations
  • Running health promotion and wellbeing clinics
  • Undertaking cervical screening (smears)
  • Ear care and irrigation
  • Phlebotomy and venepuncture
  • Wound care and dressings
  • ECG recording
  • Suture removal
  • Assessing and managing minor illnesses within your scope of practice
  • Supporting minor surgery clinics
  • Providing emergency care when required, including CPR and anaphylaxis management
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives and practice development

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RGN) qualification with current NMC registration
  • Minimum 2 years' post-registration experience
  • Previous experience working within a GP Surgery, Primary Care, or Community setting
  • Experience managing chronic diseases within Primary Care
  • Competency in:
    • Immunisations
    • Cervical Screening (Smears)
    • Ear Care
    • Phlebotomy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
  • A proactive and patient-focused approach to care

Desirable Skills

  • Diabetes Management experience
  • Minor Illness assessment and treatment experience
  • Experience supporting long-term condition management clinics
