We are currently recruiting for an experienced Landscape Team Leader to join a busy and growing landscaping team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong landscaping experience who is confident leading a team and ensuring projects are completed to a high standard and in line with the designers' plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small landscaping team on site
- Work hands-on alongside the team to complete landscaping projects
- Organise daily work and allocate tasks effectively
- Ensure work is completed as directed by the landscape designer
- Carry out tree and hedge planting and other soft landscaping
- Undertake hard landscaping and general groundworks
- Operate machinery such as tractors and small diggers/excavators
- Monitor the quality and progress of work
- Ensure the team works safely and efficiently
- Work independently and use initiative to resolve day-to-day site issues
- Maintain good communication with colleagues and management
- Ensure sites are kept organised, tidy and professional
Requirements
- Previous experience in landscaping, horticulture, agriculture or a similar outdoor environment
- Proven experience leading or supervising a team
- Strong knowledge of soft landscaping, including tree and hedge planting
- Some hard landscaping experience
- Good all-round practical and manual skills
- Experience operating machinery such as tractors, mini diggers or excavators
- Able to read and follow plans or instructions from a landscape designer
- Confident working on your own initiative
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication and leadership skills
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous
Pay & Hours
£16.00 - £18.50 per hour, depending on experience. Monday - Friday. Occasional Saturday work may be required depending on company requirements.
