We're partnering with an established technology business undergoing a major platform transformation and looking to hire a Senior Engineering Team Lead to drive technical delivery, architecture, and team development. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll split your time between building scalable software, setting technical direction, and helping engineers grow and succeed.
What you'll be doing?
- Leading a product-focused engineering squad
- Driving architecture, system design, and engineering best practice
- Working closely with Product Managers to shape roadmaps and delivery
- Remaining hands-on with development, code reviews, and complex technical challenges
- Coaching and mentoring engineers through regular 1-1s and career development
- Championing modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development tools
- Collaborating with wider engineering teams on platform-wide initiatives
What we're looking for
- 6+ years' experience building production software
- Previous technical leadership experience within an engineering team
- Strong backend development skills in C#/.NET (or Java, Kotlin, Go)
- Experience with React, Vue.js, or similar front-end frameworks
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- CI/CD and modern software delivery experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineers
Nice to have
- Enterprise systems or integration experience
- Previous people management responsibilities
- Experience with platform modernisation or transformation programmes
- Exposure to ERP, CRM, or other business-critical platforms
