This role is being advertised by Arden White. We are a specialist engineering recruitment agency supporting engineering, manufacturing, motorsport and advanced technology businesses across the UK and internationally. We are currently supporting a leading high-performance engineering organisation based in Woking with the recruitment of a Goods Receiver on a contract basis.
In this role, you will support the goods-in and materials function within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for receiving, checking, recording and processing incoming goods, ensuring parts, components and materials are accurately booked in and made available to the relevant internal teams.
This position would suit someone with previous experience in goods receiving, stores, logistics, materials control or warehouse operations, ideally within a technical, engineering, manufacturing, automotive, motorsport or aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities- Receive incoming goods, parts, components and materials into the business.
- Check deliveries against purchase orders, delivery notes and internal requirements.
- Inspect incoming items for accuracy, damage, shortages or discrepancies.
- Accurately book goods into internal systems, including ERP, MRP or stock control systems.
- Label, organise and move received items to the correct stores, inspection or production areas.
- Liaise with purchasing, stores, quality, production and logistics teams to resolve delivery or documentation issues.
- Support stock accuracy by ensuring all goods-in transactions are completed correctly.
- Assist with the movement of materials across internal departments where required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised goods-in area.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with internal procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
- Previous experience in goods receiving, stores, warehouse, logistics or materials control.
- Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, automotive, motorsport, aerospace or technical environment would be highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking and recording information.
- Experience using ERP, MRP, stock control or inventory management systems.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with internal teams.
- Ability to identify and escalate delivery discrepancies, shortages or quality concerns.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
- A proactive, organised and reliable approach to work.
- Basic IT skills and confidence updating internal systems accurately.
