Salary: £15.00 - £16.00 per hour

Contract: 5 days out of 7

Hours: 07:00 – 15:00

Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join a busy hospitality team in Witney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a team-focused Chef who enjoys being hands-on and getting involved in all aspects of the operation. This is not a typical Chef/FOH separation – everyone works together as one team, and you will be expected to get involved wherever needed to ensure the service runs smoothly.

We are looking for someone who is presentable, reliable, hard working and has a positive attitude, with a willingness to get stuck in and support both the kitchen and front-of-house teams.

The Role

  • Ordering stock and managing kitchen requirements
  • Menu planning
  • Organising the FOH team and delegating tasks
  • Batch cooking and food preparation
  • Maintaining a high standard of service
  • Supporting breakfast service 07:30 – 10:00
  • Supporting lunch service 11:30 – 14:00
  • Assisting with hospitality and events
  • Assisting with deliveries
  • Working closely with the Front of House team and helping wherever required
  • Reporting machine breakdowns, including Lavazza coffee machines and kitchen equipment
  • Liaising professionally with the client
  • Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food quality are maintained

Holiday Cover

The successful candidate will also be required to provide pre-booked holiday cover when necessary, including:

  • Night Service: 18:00 – 02:00
  • Weekend Service: 07:30 – 14:30

These shifts will be for pre-booked holiday cover and will be communicated in advance.

About You

  • Has previous experience working as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
  • Is a genuine team player
  • Has a positive and professional attitude
  • Is presentable and takes pride in their work
  • Speaks and understands a good level of English
  • Is flexible and willing to get involved in all areas of the operation
  • Is comfortable working alongside the FOH team
  • Can confidently organise, delegate and support other team members
  • Is reliable, hard working and able to work well under pressure
  • Takes pride in delivering excellent food and hospitality
  • Is happy to roll their sleeves up and do whatever needs doing to get the job done!
