Are you a driven Quantity Surveyor ready to take ownership of a flagship civil engineering scheme? I am seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure and groundworks packages across the UK. With a major civils and groundworks project now underway, they are looking to strengthen the commercial team with an ambitious QS who thrives in a fast-paced, high-value environment.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of a large-scale civils and groundworks package. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and operational teams, you'll ensure financial performance is maximised while maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts
- Cost value reconciliation (CVR) and forecasting
- Variations, valuations and change control management
- Supporting contract administration (NEC experience desirable)
- Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks/opportunities
- Liaising with site teams to ensure accurate cost reporting
Experience
- Proven experience as a QS within civil engineering or groundworks
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage packages independently
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Ambitious, detail-oriented and confident communicator
