The predicted salary is between 11.7 - 14.3 £ per hour.

We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join our agency team, supporting young people and adults in supported living settings. This role involves providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and complex behavioural or emotional support requirements.

As a Support Worker in supported living, you will help individuals maintain independence, develop life skills, and access their local community while promoting dignity, choice, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality person-centred support tailored to individual needs
  • Support service users with daily living tasks, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, and household management
  • Promote independence, confidence, and life skills development
  • Support individuals with accessing education, work placements, appointments, and community activities
  • Provide emotional support and build positive professional relationships
  • Support with personal care where required
  • Administer or prompt medication in line with training and policies
  • Follow care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments
  • Maintain accurate daily notes, incident reports, and handover records
  • Safeguard vulnerable young people and adults at all times
  • Support individuals with behaviours that may challenge where applicable
  • Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and support teams
  • Follow all agency and client policies and procedures

Requirements

Essential:

  • Previous experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Residential Support Worker, or similar
  • Experience supporting young people and/or adults in supported living, community, or care settings
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, reliable, and professional approach
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations
  • Flexibility to work agency shifts, including weekends, nights, and sleep-ins
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs, or challenging behaviour
  • Medication administration training
  • PMVA/MAPA training
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
