The effort feels worth it. It's a place where people stay because they feel valued, and find room to grow because they're challenged.

About the role

As a Mid-Weight CGI Artist, you'll help create high-quality, photorealistic CGI assets that showcase the DFS and Sofology product ranges across our websites and digital marketing channels. Using a blend of 3D technology and emerging AI tools, you'll produce engaging product and lifestyle imagery that brings our products to life. Working as part of a collaborative Creative team, you'll manage your own projects, contribute new ideas and work closely with colleagues to deliver outstanding visual content. This is a great opportunity for an experienced CGI Artist looking to further develop their skills while creating inspiring imagery for two of the UK's leading furniture brands. This is a fixed term contract for six months.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Creating high-quality, photorealistic CGI assets for the DFS and Sofology websites, digital channels and marketing campaigns, ensuring every render accurately reflects the finished product.
  • Producing engaging product and lifestyle imagery, including hero renders, editorial-style scenes, cameo images and close-up detail shots that bring our products to life.
  • Building and refining render scenes by applying realistic lighting, materials, textures, composition and environmental elements to achieve exceptional visual quality.
  • Using AI-powered creative tools and emerging technologies to enhance workflows, improve efficiency and support the delivery of outstanding CGI content.
  • Managing render workflows using Backburner and render farm tools, monitoring progress, troubleshooting issues and ensuring assets are delivered on time.
  • Completing post-production work in Photoshop, including retouching, compositing, colour correction and batch processing to produce polished, production-ready imagery.
  • Creating and maintaining realistic PBR materials and shaders, ensuring fabrics, finishes and product details are represented accurately and consistently.
  • Organising and managing final assets within our catalogue and asset management systems, maintaining accurate file structures and naming conventions.
  • Working closely with the wider CGI team and colleagues across the business to deliver projects on time and to the highest creative and technical standards.
  • Maintaining consistency across all CGI outputs, ensuring every asset meets our brand guidelines and quality expectations.
  • Taking ownership of your workload, managing multiple projects while applying strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach throughout the production process.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in the use of 3DS Max
  • Experience with V-Ray
  • Experience with Photoshop and Photoshop action scripts
  • Demonstrates an ability to create lifestyle imagery to a high standard
  • Works well with an inter-disciplinary team
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience in the creation of PBR shaders and materials with V-Ray

Don't let it discourage you if you don't have all of this experience, it's a guideline that will help you hit the ground running. If the role sounds like it would be a great fit for you and you're confident that it suits you, we'd love you to apply.
