About the Company
Our client is a well-established specialist contractor delivering high-quality internal joinery, commercial fit-out, roll-out, and external cladding projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team based in Wigan.
The Role
- Managing the commercial aspects of fit-out and roll-out projects from tender through to final account
- Preparing accurate estimates and competitive tender submissions
- Producing detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
- Procuring subcontractors and obtaining competitive supplier quotations
- Preparing interim valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
- Producing CVRs, cost reports, and commercial forecasts
- Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
- Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Supporting project handovers from pre-construction through to successful delivery
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or in a combined QS/Estimator role within the construction industry
- Experience within commercial fit-out, interiors, roll-out programmes, joinery, or specialist subcontracting would be highly advantageous
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent estimating ability
- Experience preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Good understanding of JCT contracts
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
- Good Microsoft Excel and IT skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and live projects simultaneously
- Full UK Driving Licence
