Our client is a well-established chemical manufacturing company who supply high-quality products and bespoke manufacturing solutions to customers across a wide range of industries and are looking for an experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer.
With a hands-on, proactive approach you will oversee all maintenance activities on site. You will play a key role in ensuring the manufacturing and filling equipment operates safely, reliably, and effectively while leading continuous improvement across the maintenance function.
As a Lead Maintenance Engineer your duties will be:
- Carry out hands-on mechanical maintenance and fault finding (electrical experience is desirable).
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programmes.
- Lead and coordinate all planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including PLC-controlled equipment where applicable.
- Lead and support the maintenance team, reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
- Maintain maintenance records and ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
- Source equipment, spare parts, and maintenance supplies as required.
- Support, coach, and develop maintenance team members.
The successful Lead Maintenance Engineer will have the following skills:
- Proven maintenance experience within a manufacturing, chemical or process environment.
- Strong mechanical skills with electrical knowledge (PLC experience would be advantageous).
- Experience leading and supervising a maintenance team.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Competent IT skills for maintaining maintenance records.
