I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client, a Legal Firm in Whitley Bay, for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant / Post Completion Assistant to join their established property team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous residential conveyancing experience who is looking to join a well-established local law firm and play an important role in supporting the smooth progression and completion of property transactions.
The Role
Working alongside the residential conveyancing team, you will be responsible for a range of administrative and post-completion duties, ensuring files are progressed accurately and efficiently through to closure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing post-completion processes from completion through to file closure
- Preparing and submitting Land Registry applications
- Dealing with SDLT submissions and related documentation
- Completing and checking post-completion paperwork
- Liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, estate agents and other third parties
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date file records
- Assisting fee earners with the administration and progression of residential property matters
- Ensuring deadlines are met and matters are progressed efficiently
- Providing a high level of client service throughout the process
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a residential conveyancing environment
- Strong knowledge of post-completion procedures
- Experience dealing with Land Registry applications and SDLT
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise a busy workload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A professional and confident approach when dealing with clients and third parties
- Experience using legal case management systems
Most importantly, you will be someone who understands the conveyancing process and can hit the ground running within a busy property team.
