What is the role?

The Regional Finance Director is a pivotal member of the regional leadership team, responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring robust governance, and driving commercial performance across the region. The role provides financial stewardship for a complex, multi-division business, partnering with operational leaders to support sustainable, profitable growth while maintaining the highest standards of financial control and compliance.

The Regional Finance Director will lead the regional finance function, providing insight and challenge to support decision-making across six operating divisions, representing approximately 3,000 units per annum and £800 million annual turnover.

What you'll do as a Regional Finance Director:

  • Overseeing the consolidation and quality assurance of bi-monthly management accounts including a detailed variance analysis against prior year and budget comparatives
  • Overseeing the consolidation and quality assurance of monthly half year and year end operating forecasts explaining clearly the drivers causing anticipated changes to results
  • Where necessary challenging the businesses on key assumptions to ensure a robust process and commercially viable targeted results in-line with the Group's strategic goals
  • Monitoring the performance of the Finance teams and individuals at regular intervals so to highlight any potential areas of concern or improvement in departmental performance which can be addressed effectively and improve regional performance
  • Leading the Finance teams in ensuring that they are sufficiently trained and any departmental queries are actioned swiftly so to maintain the highest standards of success and a competitive edge for the business
  • Attending regular internal management and valuation meetings and ensure that actions are followed up and the region continues to communicate effectively between departments
  • Ensuring that Group reporting is accurate and meets deadlines so the wider business can identify good working practice, carry out sufficient forecasting and identify any potential areas for concern

What experience do I need?

  • Ability to communicate at all levels in a courteous and professional manner
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified
  • Previous experience of working within the housing sector or similar would be advantageous
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft office
