Are you experienced with septic tanks, sewage treatment plants or other off-mains drainage systems and looking for a field-based role with planned work, sociable hours and no call-outs? Vector Recruitment Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a growing off-mains drainage specialist for an Off-Mains Drainage Surveyor covering mainly Kent, Sussex and Essex.
You will carry out pre-purchase and condition surveys at residential properties, inspecting off-mains drainage systems to establish their condition, operation and compliance.
The Role
- Visit customers' properties to inspect and survey septic tanks, sewage treatment plants, cesspits and associated drainage systems.
- Inspecting septic tanks, sewage treatment plants, cesspits, chambers and drainage systems.
- Carrying out CCTV drainage surveys of upstream and downstream pipework.
- Identifying defects including damaged pipes, displaced joints, root ingress, blockages and poor falls.
- Checking foul and surface water arrangements, including rainwater cross-connections.
- Inspecting drainage fields, soakaways and discharge arrangements.
- Recording system layouts, defects, photographs and CCTV footage.
- Identifying potential compliance issues and required remedial works.
About You
- Strong practical knowledge of off-mains drainage systems, including septic tanks, cesspits and sewage treatment plants.
- Your experience could come from installing, servicing, maintaining or surveying off-mains systems, as survey-specific training can be provided.
- Ideally, experience of dye testing and carrying out CCTV drainage inspections using push-rod or similar camera equipment.
- Comfortable working independently and dealing professionally with homeowners and customers.
- Full UK driving licence.
