We are recruiting an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join a global organisation undergoing significant cloud modernisation and platform transformation. This role will focus on designing, building and supporting secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure environments while driving automation and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and support cloud infrastructure across Azure
- Design resilient, scalable architectures aligned to high-availability requirements
- Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
- Drive standardisation and security best practices across cloud environments
- Troubleshoot and optimise cloud infrastructure across networking, compute, storage, and identity
- Support monitoring, alerting, patching, maintenance, and performance tuning activities
- Work closely with development teams, vendors, and service providers to support deployments and resolve issues
- Deliver infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations and platform improvements
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
- Recommend improvements to automation, performance, and cloud capabilities
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Implement and maintain security controls across cloud environments
- Support audits, vulnerability management and compliance activities
- Ensure infrastructure aligns with organisational security standards and best practices
Required Experience:
- Proven experience managing enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms
- Strong Azure experience
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell and/or Python
- Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments
- Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work across multiple priorities in a collaborative environment
Technical Environment:
Experience with some or all of the following technologies would be highly beneficial: Terraform, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell, Python, GitHub, GitLab, ArgoCD, Octopus Deploy, Windows Server, Linux, New Relic, VMware, Cloudflare, Dell EMC storage technologies.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Cloud platform certifications (Azure) desirable
- Infrastructure as Code and/or containerisation certifications beneficial
