We are seeking an experienced Technical Automation Lead to support the delivery of a major industrial automation programme within a process manufacturing environment. This is a pivotal position, bridging the gap between commissioning execution and site leadership. You will provide technical direction to commissioning engineers while supporting the Site Manager in coordinating automation activities on site.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on automation professional with strong commissioning experience, ready to take ownership of key workstreams, lead small teams, and act as the technical authority for control system delivery and plant startup.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the lead automation engineer across assigned project areas
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to commissioning and automation engineers
  • Review and validate:
    • Control system software
    • Hardware configurations
    • Commissioning strategies
  • Lead resolution of technical issues during installation, commissioning, and startup
  • Act as the primary automation interface between engineering teams, vendors, operations, and site leadership
  • Commissioning & Startup
  • Lead and oversee execution of:
    • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
    • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
    • Loop checks and I/O validation
    • Functional testing
    • Integrated system testing
    • Plant startup and performance verification
  • Support commissioning of:
    • PLC systems
    • SCADA platforms
    • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
    • Industrial network infrastructure
Requirements
  • Proven experience in industrial automation within a process manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in commissioning and startup activities
  • Hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, and/or DCS systems
  • Experience leading small teams or workstreams on-site
  • Ability to operate as a technical authority in a fast-paced project environment
  • Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
