We're looking for an analytical and commercially minded Merchandise Analyst to join our Merchandising team and help shape smarter decisions across our product, pricing, promotional, and inventory strategies.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves uncovering insights from data and translating them into actionable recommendations that drive sales, margin growth, customer retention, and business performance. Working closely with senior leaders across Merchandising, Buying, Planning, Allocation and Finance, you'll play a key role in identifying opportunities that influence critical commercial decisions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering insightful hindsight, line planning, and in-season performance analysis.
- Identifying opportunities to improve sales, margin, inventory productivity and customer growth.
- Partnering with Merchandising and Buying teams to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Analysing market trends, competitor pricing and customer behaviour to drive optimisation opportunities.
- Evaluating promotional performance and recommending ways to maximise effectiveness and return on investment.
- Using customer, inventory and space productivity metrics to influence future merchandising strategies.
- Monitoring market share performance and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Supporting inventory optimisation through data-led recommendations.
- Identifying store clustering and localisation opportunities to enhance performance.
- Producing ad hoc analysis and insights for senior stakeholders.
What we're looking for
We're seeking a commercially curious analyst who combines strong technical capability with the confidence to challenge, influence and recommend change. You'll ideally bring:
- Experience in a retail analytics, merchandising or commercial analysis environment.
- Advanced analytical skills with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Fabric, SQL, Python or similar.
- Excellent Excel capabilities, including Pivot Tables and Power Query.
- Strong numerical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn complex data into clear business recommendations.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, results-focused approach and a genuine passion for continuous improvement.
- A strong understanding of retail performance drivers, merchandising principles and commercial decision-making.
