We are looking for a motivated and pragmatic Risk & Compliance Officer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover. This is a varied role which combines regulatory support, risk management, governance and project delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of business-wide Risk & Compliance initiatives whilst also assisting with day-to-day compliance, risk and governance activities.
Working closely with colleagues across the business, the role will help ensure regulatory requirements are understood and embedded into business processes, support the delivery of key strategic projects, and contribute to maintaining a strong culture of compliance, customer focus and risk awareness. The Role you will be doing:
- Risk and Compliance Support
- Support the identification, assessment and monitoring of operational, conduct and regulatory risks.
- Assist in maintaining risk registers, action plans and governance records.
- Support compliance monitoring and quality assurance activities.
- Assist with regulatory reporting, incident management and breach assessments where required.
- Support the review and update of policies, procedures and governance documentation.
- Produce management information, reports and presentations for committees and senior management.
- Project & Change Delivery
- Support the delivery of Risk & Compliance projects and improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate actions, milestones and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
- Assist with the design and implementation of new frameworks, controls and processes.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure regulatory and risk requirements are effectively embedded into business activities.
- Monitor progress against objectives and escalate risks, issues or delays where appropriate.
- Support business readiness activities including process documentation, training and communications.
- Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen controls, governance arrangements and customer outcomes.
- Support reviews of existing processes to improve efficiency, consistency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development of a positive risk and compliance culture across the business.
- Assist with the preparation of governance packs, committee reporting and action tracking.
About You:

- Experience working within a regulated financial services environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
