A Day in the Life and the Impact You'll Make As our Production Shift Lead, you'll be responsible for leading the entire shift operation, ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety expectations are consistently achieved.
You'll coordinate people, resources and production activity while supporting, developing and motivating your team to deliver exceptional performance.
Acting as the key decision-maker on shift, you'll quickly resolve operational challenges, drive continuous improvement and create a positive, accountable working environment where everyone can perform at their best.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate all production activities during your shift, ensuring output, quality and safety targets are consistently achieved.
- Manage, motivate and develop Section Leads and Production Operatives, supporting performance, attendance, wellbeing and employee development.
- Take ownership of shift performance by managing labour, resources, overtime and production priorities to maximise efficiency.
- Act as the main escalation point for operational, quality, health & safety and people-related issues, ensuring swift resolution.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, compliance and accountability through effective communication, coaching and leadership.
About You You'll be an experienced production leader with a passion for developing people and driving operational excellence.
You'll be confident making decisions under pressure, communicating effectively across all levels of the business and creating a positive, high-performing team culture.
You'll also bring
- Previous experience leading teams within a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment.
- Strong people management skills, including performance management, absence management and employee relations.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities with the confidence to make operational decisions.
- A strong understanding of health & safety, quality standards and production best practice.
- Great communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate, influence and develop others.
- Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or continuous improvement environments would be advantageous.
- IOSH or other Health & Safety qualifications would be beneficial.
