We are seeking a talented Lead / Senior Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a key role responsible for delivering complex technical programmes, acting as the engineering focal point within multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
Depending on experience, you will either lead a small team of engineers while maintaining strong technical involvement (Lead Engineer) or operate as a highly skilled specialist providing deep technical expertise (Senior Engineer).
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical focal point for engineering programmes, including direct customer engagement
- Lead and contribute to engineering design, analysis, and development activities
- Plan, schedule, and deliver engineering work in line with cost, quality, and time constraints
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and technicians
- Review and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring robust engineering solutions
- Oversee preparation of engineering documentation including drawings, reports, and specifications
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and practices
- Support new product development activities from concept through to introduction
- Liaise with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and commercial functions
- Contribute to team development, including mentoring, performance management, and training (Lead level)
- Support compliance with aerospace standards, certification, and regulatory requirements
- Represent Moog professionally, balancing technical integrity with commercial considerations
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience in a senior or lead engineering role within aerospace or another highly regulated industry
- Strong technical expertise in a relevant discipline such as mechanical, hydraulic systems, actuation, stress, or design
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex engineering programmes
- Experience acting as a technical authority with customer-facing responsibilities
- Strong understanding of new product development lifecycles, from concept to certification and production
- Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering projects within budget and schedule constraints
- Excellent problem-solving skills with experience resolving complex technical challenges
- Knowledge of aerospace regulations, airworthiness requirements, and certification processes
- Experience with engineering documentation, including technical reports, specifications, and drawings
- Familiarity with MRB and Engineering Order processes (desirable)
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering teams
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial functions
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance business needs and engineering integrity
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience enhancing engineering processes
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
