Next Generation have been appointed to recruit for an Assembly Operative to work for a well-established manufacturing business who supply into multiple industries. Based in Tewkesbury, the Assembly Operative will be responsible for carrying out production and manufacturing operations fabrication of PCBs.
Duties of the Assembly Operative:
- Carry out manufacturing and assembly operations in the production of PCBs in accordance with documented work instructions, process specifications, and quality standards.
- Operate production machinery and equipment safely, competently, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures and training received.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspection of in-process and finished product, identifying and escalating non-conformances in accordance with the Company's quality management procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records, batch records, and traceability documentation as required by quality management systems (including IPC standards, ISO 9001, and AS9100 where applicable).
- Meet productivity targets and output standards as communicated by the Production Supervisor, reporting any factors that may affect delivery schedules.
- Set up, operate, and carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of production equipment and tooling in accordance with scheduled maintenance plans.
- Support the introduction of new products, processes, and equipment by participating in trials, training, and validation activities as required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with 5S principles and the Company's housekeeping standards.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and quality enhancement to the Production Supervisor.
- Participate fully in team briefings, training sessions, and performance reviews as required.
- Comply with all Company Health and Safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe manual handling, and adherence to COSHH controls relevant to PCB manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the health, safety, and welfare of yourself, your colleagues, and all others affected by the Company's activities.
The successful candidate for the Assembly Operative position will have the following experience:
- 3-5 years experience working as an Assembly Operative (Essential)
- Experience operating production/manufacturing equipment (Essential)
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail (Essential)
