As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of advanced communications and network-based systems within a highly technical engineering environment. Working across the full product lifecycle, you will help design, develop, and verify integrated system solutions that support critical aviation infrastructure globally.
This role would suit an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in RF systems, radio communications, networking technologies, and systems integration. You will be joining a collaborative multidisciplinary team where technical thinking, problem solving, and engineering quality are genuinely valued.
Job Responsibilities- Contribute to the full product development lifecycle from requirements capture through to verification and delivery
- Define and document system level requirements and functional specifications
- Break down high-level customer and technical requirements into detailed functional use cases
- Support system architecture development for RF and communications-based products
- Conduct technical design reviews and provide engineering input throughout development phases
- Work on integrated system solutions involving radio communications, IP networking, VoIP, and associated technologies
- Ensure systems comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and technical requirements
- Produce detailed technical documentation including system diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures
- Support verification, validation, and integration activities across hardware and software environments
- Identify technical risks and support resolution activities throughout projects
- Contribute to system commonality and compatibility across product ranges
- Support future product and technology planning activities
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineers
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across systems, software, hardware, and product functions
- Essential
- Previous experience working as a Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, or within a similar systems-focused engineering role
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or technical discipline
- Strong background in radio communications, RF systems, or related communications technologies
- Good understanding of IP networking technologies
- Experience working with VoIP systems and network-based communications
- Strong understanding of the full product development lifecycle
- Ability to translate requirements into functional system behaviours and use cases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience producing technical system documentation
- Understanding of systems integration and verification activities
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance
